It's Exotiq Villa Services where I'm working right now.
It's been 10 monthsI didn't update this blog. It's been 10 months I've been working as web marketing.

Meanwhile... I'm still working on my SEO freelance project.
This company is my university. As were the other previous jobs.
Web content editor, SEO specialist and now web marketing.
Mysecond task is to supervise the IT department. To decide, purchase, act and give instructions.

I'm nearly 30. And life delivers me as an Internet Marketing person. Soon I'll be able to add Web Analyst to my skills. It's been almost 10 years since my first IT job, which was an Internet Counselor.

Reading what I wrote just now.. think its funny. I never thought I would be an IT person. I took English bachelor degree. I didn't have a computer at home until 6 years ago. I couldn't even use MS. Word 9 years ago. So it was a right decision to take the next study in Informatics.

Meta Tagging of "Hotel Murah"

Previous posts were examples on blogging. As i've wrote below that content holds a major portion on search engine result pages. Build a unique content, multiple words and repetitive keywords. Try not to make it duplicate and unnecessary. But dont you know that in SEO, meta tagging also plays a significant roles?

What is meta tag actually?

What the heck is it? You can see metatagging of a website by right clicking on your mouse and view page source. Scroll on the upper part and you will find what words that website is optimize in. It is a set of rule that tells the robots of search engine about the content of the website. Where is it come from? It comes from keyword.

Pattern of Web Surfer
Keyword is actually the phrase web surfers are typing in search engines. What they want to find out, to search and find information. There are so many word for so many search. For example if i want to spend a holiday in Bali and i'm on budget, first i would like to see if there is a nice and cheap accommodation. I will open the internet, click on google, yahoo or msn, and type "hotel murah" in bahasa indonesia or "cheap hotel". There will be more than 1000 website result. But i wont bother to open the 90 something. So i just click on the website that comes in between 1-2 pages. Then if i dont see what i'm looking for, i will continue searching. On new word search!

This is the pattern of most websurfer is. Knowing this will bring a great benefit on how to make your website is most visible by them. And that's by coming in top 10! ( or 20). Now we know 1 thing "hotel murah". Use the phrase in your meta script and spread it all over in your website. Mix and match the word, and make it naturally written. Of course there are so many meta to be used. But the ones commonly optimize are: title, keyword, description and ROBOT TXT.

I finally got indexed by Google yesterday for keyword " hotel murah ".

Here is the snapshot of both benangruwet.blogspot.com and seo-masa.blogspot.com position for keyword HOTEL MURAH in google.co.id and .com as of today, July 05, 07.

And after successfully positioned in no 1 for couple of weeks, i changed back the meta n content to its original template and it dropped in top 15.

If you notice the list below, you will find that almost all websites offer Bali as one of destinations to get hotel murah, budget hotel or cheap hotel for holidays. Along with cheap airline ticket and villa. Those keyword are highly clicked by visitors.

Talking Hotel Murah in Bali

Today i searched for keyword "hotel murah" in google. It appears to be only 368.000 websites listing for that phrase. So i say.."this is it!" I will take it for my SEO project.

Hotel murah or cheap hotel is somehow confusing if its not so much competitors since its a wide and general search word in our mind to find. Especially in Bali which is known as Island of Gods or paradise. Many people will try to find a cheap place or hotel yang murah to stay as long as they can during their visit.

Cheap places or hotel murah can be found even in the crowdest place such as Legian and Seminyak. The rate starts from 60 thousand rupiahs or $6 until 300 thousands or $30. They are clean, indoor bathroom and a fan for standard rooms. Murah sekali, bukan? But you will not find it online. You have to come directly to the hotel or best known as guesthouse or homestay for the cheap one. Like what we said, "murah tapi tidak murahan". Best if you know local people to show the right place. Just tell them that you are looking for a cozy and nice cheap hotel, or in bahasa " hotel murah".

Writing a Content

Here are some guidelines to follow when writing the content of your page:

Always use your primary keywords in the body text area at least one or more times.
Try to place your primary keyword phrase at the beginning of the body text.
Try to repeat the keyword phrase near the beginning and the end of each paragraph in the body and near the end of the body area itself. In other words, prove to the search engines without a shadow of a doubt that your page is about that particular keyword phrase, because you've used it in all of your keyword-containing tags and have sprinkled it throughout the contents (body text) of the page.
Avoid listing the same word multiple times in a row since some engines may penalize for this. Instead, use the keyword multiple times, but separate them by other words in your text.
Use the longer form and the plural form of a keyword when possible. For example, if you use marketing in your body text, a search on marketing or market will yield a match on most engines. However, words like companies will not always yield a match on company since company is not an exact "substring" of companies. In these cases, you'll want to try and use both forms of the word.

Some engines prefer more words than other engines, but in general a total word count between 300 and 800 words is normally recommended in the <> area of your web page. You should use this space in the body of your document as an opportunity to create excellent content for your visitors.

Keyword Placement
Optimize each of your Web pages for not more than 4-5 keywords. Preferably, use the top 5 keywords on the homepage. For a first hand reference, analyze your competitor’s website and take note of the places where he has included his keywords on his Web pages. Try to use the keywords towards the top of the Web page, because this helps in improving the ranking of the page. Following is a list of important locations for putting up your keywords.

In optimizing a website, first you must know basic rules of SEO, which are:

Always use a good title tag and good heading tags.
Use your important keyword phrase toward the beginning of the tags.
Keep your pages as simple as possible while still be aesthetically pleasing.
Provide links to all of your important pages from your main page.
Use link text containing your keyword phrase.
Build good, solid, valuable content.

The Most Important SEO Tools

Title Tag & Heading

The title tag is a line of text summarizing what your web page is about. But, it also serves all of the following functions:

it tells customers that they are in the right place,
it is displayed in the browser title bar,
it holds important keywords so that your page can be properly categorized,
it is displayed whenever someone bookmarks your site, and Search Engines may use the title tag as the heading of the results returned for a search.

An excellent title tag is so important to any good SEO campaign. Title tag is believed to be the most important thing you can do to improve the SEO of your website. It is placed near the beginning of your html file between the <> and < /head> tags. It looks like this:

Note that Web design software usually writes title tags for you as "Home Page" or "Untitled". These are terrible for SEO. Always change the defaults and write title tags enriched with keywords you desire.

Keyword

Keywords: words and phrases that web surfers put into search engines when they are looking for websites that cover particular topics or sell certain products. Optimizing your website so that it turns up somewhere in the top of the search engine results pages (SERPs) for keywords can help build your business, but only if you choose the right ones. For example: if you would like to spend your honeymoon or bulan madu in Bali, you must enter keywords such as: bulan madu bali . Since the three phrases are most relevant and best describing your search criteria. Don't use 1 word only such as bulan madu or Bali. It will bias the result and hundreds, no .. thousands competitors to beat, such as diving operators, surfing, hotels, restaurants etc in Bali! which is very hard and takes a long time.

Next step is to put those keywords in your website heading, title tag and content.

SEO: Search Engine Optimization

It is the act of optimizing a webpage and/or web site to perform well in the search engines. The process of updating HTML code and choosing targeted keyword phrases related to a site, and ensuring that the site places well when those keywords are queried on search engines. The higher a Web site ranks in the results of a search, the greater the chance that that site will be visited by a user.

When optimizing a web site text is to be written to include prominent keyword phrases for title tags, description tags, keyword tags, alt attribute tags on images, headings and changes to the first 200-250 words in the main body text.

There are many SEO techniques. In general, these techniques can be categorized as On-Page Optimization, On-Site Optimization, and Off-Site Optimization. There are also two schools of SEO: white hat SEO and black hat SEO. White hat SEOs are those that play by the rule (actually guidelines provided by search engines). Black hat SEOs are those that pushes the limit of SEOs and employ some questionable or prohibited techniques (according to the guidelines). These black hat SEO techniques are also commonly known as spam.
